Vetrocol® 10%

Each ml of solution contains:

Colistin (as sulphate)                 2,000,000 IU

Poultry, Lambs and Calves

• To prevent, Control and Treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by gram-negative susceptible bacteria to Colistin such as E. coli and Salmonella, Haemophilus and Pseudomonas.

Suggested dosage for use in poultry:

• Poultry 37.5 ml of Vetrocol^® 10% /1000 Kg BW (Equivalent to 75,000 IU of colistin /Kg BW daily) equivalent to 250 ml of Vetrocol^®10% / 1000 L of  D.W. daily for 3-5 consecutive days Lambs and Calves0.25 ml of Vetrocol^® 10% / 10 Kg BW (Equivalent to 50,000 IU of colistin /Kg BW), twice a day for 3-5 consecutive daysNote:
  • Prepare a fresh solution daily.
  • Do not use the medicated water after 24 hours.
  • Do not use the medicated milk after 6 hours.
  • During the treatment period the animals should not have access to any other source of drinking water other than the medicated water. It should be ensured that animals always have sufficient water available.
  • The recommended daily dose should be divided into two if the product is to be administered directly into the mouth of the animal.
  • Colistin has synergistic effects with beta-lactam antibiotics (Amoxicillin and etc.), Erythromycin, Clindamycin, Bacitracin, Doxycycline, and Sulfonamides.
  • Dosage and duration should be prescribed by a veterinarian.

• Do not use in animals with renal disorders.

• Meat and Viscera: 7 days
• Broilers: 2 days

• The use of Vetrocol^® 10% with skeletal muscle relaxants, Levamisole and Aminoglycosides, is not permitted.
• Using Vetrocol^® 10% in the presence of binary cations (Iron, Calcium, Magnesium and etc.), unsaturated fatty acids and polyphosphates reduces its efficacy.

• Keep it in room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
• Keep the lid of container closed.

• Use under supervision of a veterinarian.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• The shelf life, if sealed and subject to storage conditions, is 2 years after manufacturing date and 28 days if opened.
